Department of Education

The Department of Education was founded on January 1st 1999 by way of a merger with six former independent departments which were involved with methodology, subject matter education, pedagogy, special pedagogy, occupational pedagogy, creative subjects and sport. Through the merger of these departments, the Department of Education (with the acronym IPD) came into being in January, 1999 and, today, is one of the largest departments within the university.

IPD is a part of the Faculty of Education to which the Department of Food, Health and Environment (MHM), the Department of Work Science, and the Centre for School Management Training are also affiliated.
