The Department has just over 300 employed and approximately 3,500 students at undergraduate and supplementary course level along with approximately 150 postgraduate students. The Department, which is the largest within the Faculty of Education, contributes to the teacher-training programmes and education programmes with other faculties.
International Master Programme in Educational Research
A two-year International Master Programme in Educational Research is based on varied and broad educational research at the department. The programme focuses on education and learning as individual, interactive and collective processes in various settings in society.
Courses offered in English
IPD offers a large number of courses concerning self-contained courses within the different subject disciplines of pedagogy, special needs education, teaching methodology and subject matter education. In our graduate programme, we provide courses in general and subject didactics, special needs ecucation, pedagogy with concentration on pre-school and recreational pedagogic activities such as pedagogy with a concentration on the management of pedagogical activities (school manager training).
