Helena is a senior lecturer at the Swedish School of Library and Information Science at the University of Borås and the University of Gothenburg (SSLIS). Her doctoral thesis, presented in spring 2008, is a study of document and information architecture in scholarly open access e-journals. Her research interests concern the credibility and authority of sources, information literacy, document studies, electronic publishing, knowledge organization, and scholarly communication. She has been teaching at SSLIS since 1999 and worked as a lecturer at the Department of Cultural Sciences, Lund University in spring 2008. Between 2000 and 2007, she was co-editor of the peer-reviewed journal Human IT: Journal for information technology studies as a human science.
Helena is a member of the project "Expertise, Authority and Control on the Internet (EXACT): A study of the formation of source credibility in Web 2.0 environments for learning" funded by the Swedish Research Council for 2008-2010. EXACT is a study of how the credibility of sources is negotiated in Swedish high school environments, with a particular focus on collaborative web technologies and genres. The project leader is Docent Olof Sundin, and other members of the project are Professor Mikael Alexandersson and Professor Louise Limberg.
