History of technology, Technology, Didactics, Neuroscience and teaching
An all-pervading interest is to place science and technology in a historical perspective in order to elucidate issues involving teaching and learning in an all-round manner. A cardinal principle is that the instruction students receive must be relevant also in their future occupations. In order to be able to deal with problems not known to us today, they must become familiar with viewing problems from many disparate perspectives and thus acquire functional preparedness for action. The foundation for life-long learning must be established early. This also entails that student attitudes to knowledge and learning must be positive if that knowledge is to be able to remain vital and for them to be able to develop what they learned in their basic education.
